The Steamship Minnehaha

Adrift in history

Scuttled off the coast of Big Island in 1926, the Steamship Minnehaha was raised in 1980 and restored. It is the last of many such steamers which originally carried passengers to far-flung lakeside hotels and the Big island Amusement Park during the Victorian era.

Today, the Minnehaha is back in service, running from Excelsior to Wayzata and back on weekends and holidays.
The season begins May 28th and continues through September 12th. Hours of operation are Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays from Noon to 5:30 PM.
