Ice Out!

Lake Minnetonka Ice Out Dates, 1855-2012

The ice is considered to be officially “out” when it is possible to travel from any one shore to any other shore through any passage on the lake.

In recorded history, the ice has never left Lake Minnetonka earlier than March 11th (1878) and has never left later than May 8th (1856). The average Ice Out date is April 15th.
